I recently set the intention to start writing again. There was a lot of resistance to getting back into it. Do I have the time? What should I write about?
But then, I kept things simple and wrote this short letter to Maeve.
And suddenly, through that small action, I’m back in what I call “The Creating Mindset.”
It’s what I feel when (a) I have a clear sense of what I want to create and (b) there’s momentum earned through taking action.
My consciousness is now looking for opportunities of what I might write with the confidence (and reduced resistance) to following through, writing, and publishing.
My actions, in small ways, have changed slightly to make it easier to create this shift, whether it be more intentional reading, aiming to create more quiet time, or listening with better intent.
Stepping into any next action or situation, I consider the way in which I might show up to support The Creating Mindset, which benefits not only my writing but also my being.
What are you aiming to create in your life?
It need not be writing or a creative endeavor.
Maybe you’re trying to create a change in your neighborhood, or you want to create a routine that works well for you in this chapter of life, or you’re trying to create the space to have an important conversation.
Regardless of what it is, be sure to (a) get clarity on whatever it is and (b) see if you can take one small action towards creating it today.
Know that doing so has unlocked (or kept open) The Creating Mindset.
With it, we can go so far.
