The Three Levels of Discipline

What decision, if made, could provide the most positive impact on your life?

The Three Levels of Discipline

Funny for me to write about discipline on a day where I almost missed fulfilling my commitment of sharing an article with you every Wednesday.

Maybe the second level of discipline can help make it so that I'm not nearly missing out on a commitment of mine.

But let's not go out of order.

As I learned today from Psychotherapist Phil Stutz, who joined our Community of Optimize Coaches, there are three levels of discipline:

1 - Reactive Discipline: the discipline you exhibit (or don't exhibit) when reacting to a situation or event.

2 - Structural Discipline: the discipline of how you order your days to support (or detract) from acting and living in the way you want to.

3 - Expansive Discipline: the discipline to consistently move beyond what's comfortable in order to create growth.

Though expansive discipline may be a topic for another day, I'd like to focus on #2.

Structural discipline is simple, but not easy. Structural discipline is cultivated by decisions.

What decision are you waiting to make?

What decision, if made, could provide the most positive impact on your life?

How might that decision provide you with the structural discipline to more deeply move into integrity with your best, most authentic self?

Go decide. I'm excited for you.
